The women’s desk of Namirembe Diocese is an umbrella organization of all women’s fellowships and ministries in the Diocese of Namirembe.
This year the women’s desk of Namirembe Diocese has organized a 3 days of prayer and focusing all our burdens to the Lord at Uganda Martyrs Church Busega- Nateete Archdeaconry under the theme: “ Come now let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18).
The first day was organized for the daughters and sons of the king in Namirembe Diocese and other dioceses.
The day begun with a Bible exposition by Rev. William Sekitoleko (the priest of Masanafu parish). In his sermon the Rev. told the congregation that when God calls you, you don’t have to reject. The preacher also warned the youth against the miss-use of social- media platforms because they can lead them to people with hidden agendas. He also reminded them that in this year of the family the only opportunity they have is to reason with God.
The guest speaker – Mr. Richard Paul Kabanda talked about “life skills for empowerment”.
In his presentation Mr. Richard Paul Kabanda expounded the key verse in the book of, 1 Timothy 4:12“Let no man Despise your youth, but be an example to those who believe in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and purity”, he argued the youth to come and serve in youth leadership positions in the church which can help them to gain experience. He also encouraged the youth to add value on their academic papers so that they can compete in this competitive world.
The chief guest maama Faith Luwalira thanked the youth for turning up in big numbers to attend the focus fest of this year. She pledged to the youth to look for various opportunities so that they can lean more on living a Godly life.
