ENTEBBE SECONDARY SCHOOL GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS.

Major General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (the Presidential Advisor on Special Assignments) presided over the golden jubilee celebrations of Entebbe Secondary School. The school was initiated in 1967 under the stewardship of the Christians that were in charge of Chadwick Memorial School, Namate. It later became Government grant-aided in 1976. Since its initiation, the school has not only achieved academically but also registered tremendous developments especially in the area of infrastructure. Today the school has expanded from one block it started with to structures like the multi-purpose storied building, 20 staff housing units including the Head teacher’s house, the school Library, the Dinning Hall, Computer Laboratory, more classroom blocks and renovation of the school plant, the students’ hostels, the school demonstration farm for Diary and Poultry keeping, purchase of a new school pickup and 67 seater Isuzu bus to ease on school transport etc. In addition to that, the school started with 39 students but today it has a total population of 966 students. Indeed, the school had all the reasons to celebrate.

The Guest of honor Major Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba who represented the Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni, thanked the school for promoting science subjects. The Retired Bishop of Luweero Diocese, Rt. Rev Evans Mukasa Kisekka represented Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira of Namirembe Diocese and in his sermon, he called upon the students, teachers and parents to be good fishers of men. He also urged the parents to groom their children with Christian values. The headteacher thanked the MOST HIGH for bringing the school this far. He appreciated the people who realized the vision of starting this great institution and went a head to pursue it until it bore fruits.

The Guest of honor officiated a new building to facilitate the girls dormitory extension and a modern sickbay. Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni pledged Ug shs10m towards the above cause. Major Gen. Muhoozi pledged Ug shs5m to the science class. Congratulations Entebbe SS upon that success. Many blessings!
