The Bible Society of Uganda is a Christian Non-Governmental Organization, which serves churches and the general public by making the Holy Scriptures available in languages that people understand best. Today the Bible Society responded to the appeal made to them by Bishop Luwalira to support children in Sesse Parish, Entebbe Archdeaconry with Bibles. The Bishop pays a pastoral visit to Sesse every year and he had observed many times lack of bibles by pupils and students in the school he visits.
According to the Bishop, owning a bible and reading it every day keeps us away from sin and helps us to renew our minds so we can know and understand God’s will which is very important to the young people. The Bibles were delivered by the Secretary General Bible Society Mr. Simon Peter Mukhama who pledged total commitment to the Bishop to continue supporting the Diocese in spreading the gospel and ensuring that people understand the word of God.
The Bishop thanked Bible Society for the good response towards his appeal. He narrated to the Secretary General various challenges faced by the people of Sesse. He promised to deliver the Bibles and ensured the Bible Society team that the Church will ensure that the Bibles are put to good use by the beneficiaries. He committed to continue supporting the efforts of Bible Society. We thank you Bible Society and God bless your ministry.
