Visit to the Baweereza Project

Clergy and Lay Readers in Namirembe Diocese have visited the site were the Baweereza Project is being constructed. Earlier, this project was known as Pension House before the name was revised by the overall committee supervising this development to Baweereza so as to consider all the active and retired clergy and Lay Readers. This project was started under the visionary leadership of Bishop Luwalira to financially support clergy and Lay Readers with retirement benefits and meet life challenges such as health issues, housing, education etc.
The purpose of this visit was to update the Clergy and Lay Readers on the progress of the construction and the task a head towards its completion. Rev. Canon Nelson Kaweesa the committee vice chairman and Mr. Henry Lubwama the project coordinator have made a detailed explanation on the work so far done.

In his remarks, Bishop Luwalira has thanked the committee and Diocesan Treasury for financing the first stages of construction. He urged the clergy and Lay Readers to own the project and do their best towards its completion. He reminded them that this project was given a time frame of 2 years and over Ug shs 10b is estimated for its completion.
